Edwardian period, dress jacket with gold edged white stand-up collar, matching cuff patch with three gilt buttons and two Lieutenant gold stripes, two rows of gilt buttons down front, detachable gold wire shoulder straps with silver wire anchor attaches and bullion wire fringes, plush bicorn hat with a black, pleated silk cockade and a gold bullion coil to the centre and bullion coils at either end. To the inside is white pleated silk liner and cream leather head band. The bicorn has a makers label of ‘Gieves Lte, London’, gold & blue wire aigulette with gilr fittings adorned with silver anchors, black leather and gold wire sword belt woth gilt oval buckle. The shoulder straps and hat are contained in a japanned tin box with a brass shield on the lid embossed with the royal coat of arms & GIEVES. There is also the name T.WHEELER R.N. painted on the lid . The whole uniform is in excellent condition but the box shows some wear.
