BLUES TROUSERS with broad green stripe down side........ BLUES PEAKED CAP, with green band, gold wire oak leaves on peak & gilt & silver Kings Crown RNZ Armoured Corps badge........ Kelly Brown served in Greece & Crete and was awarded the Greek Military Cross for his part in the rescue of the Greek king. After service in North Africa he was posted as a Major with the 18th NZ Armoured Regiment in Italy. He was awarded the DSO in May 1944 for his work in support of the 8th Indian Division in deploying his tanks in country that was described as impassible to all tracked vehicles. On occasions he personally proceeded on foot and in very close proximity to enemy machine guns to bring his tanks into position......... A fine and historically important set of uniforms.
